In a strip mall in Oakland Park you would drive past without a second look, Lona's Lil Eats has built a brunch reputation that extends across all of Broward County. The tiny kitchen turns out farm-fresh egg dishes with a creativity and precision that leaves larger restaurants embarrassed.
The menu changes with the farmers' market haul — rotating favorites include a shakshuka that earns its comparisons to Tel Aviv versions, a breakfast sandwich on house-baked bread, and a granola bowl that converts people who don't eat granola. Everything is made from scratch, including the hot sauces.
